This policy explains what personal information Bex Delicious Scents collects when you use www.bdscents.co.uk, why we collect it and how we look after it. We are the data controller for your information under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
What we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, phone number (optional) and delivery address. If you create an account we also store a securely encrypted version of your password, never the password itself. We keep a record of the orders you place.
Payments are handled by PayPal. We receive confirmation of payment and your PayPal email address, but we never receive or store your card details.
Why we use it
We use your information to process and deliver your order, to send you emails about your order, to manage your account and to deal with any questions or returns. Our lawful basis is that this is necessary to fulfil our contract with you. We also keep order records because the law requires us to for tax purposes.
We will only send you marketing emails if you have chosen to receive them, and you can opt out at any time.
Who we share it with
We only share your information where needed to run the shop: PayPal to take payment, Royal Mail or our courier to deliver your parcel, and our website hosting provider. We never sell your information.
Cookies
Our website uses one essential cookie to remember your shopping cart and keep you signed in. It is deleted when you close your browser. PayPal may set its own cookies when you pay. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
How long we keep it
We keep order records for 6 years to meet HMRC requirements. If you have an account, we keep your account details until you ask us to delete them.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to how we use it and to withdraw consent to marketing. To do any of these, email orders@bdscents.co.uk.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
